Just about every part of HotDog is customizable, and the HTML Property Sheet is no exception! You can access the customization options for the HTML Property Sheet as follows:
Within a document that is open in the HotDog editor, place the text insertion cursor in between the angle brackets of a tag. For example, you could place the text insertion cursor in between the < and > characters of the <BODY> tag.
The HTML Property Sheet will display the properties and attributes of the <BODY> tag (or of any other tag that your text insertion cursor is positioned on).
Within the HTML Property Sheet, notice that there are gray lines that act as headings for the properties listed below them. The gray lines have different HTML standards written within them.
Using the right hand mouse button, click on any one of these gray lines. The context menu that appears provides you with various options for configuring the HTML Property Sheet. These options are discussed below.
Selecting this option will re-set the column widths for the property names and their attributes to provide the optimal viewing space for the information in each column.
If this option is checked then the columns for the tag properties and their attributes will adjust as you resize the HTML Property Sheet resource panel, so that both columns retain the same percentage of the width of the panel after the panel is resized.
If this option is unchecked, then the first column will remain the same size, and only the width of the second column (showing the property attributes) will adjust when you change the width of the HTML Property Sheet resource panel.
If this option is checked then the full name of each HTML standard covered by each group of properties in the HTML Property Sheet resource panel will be displayed in their respective property group heading bars (the gray lines of information in the HTML Property Sheet).
If this option is unchecked, then the names of each HTML standard are abbreviated, so that you can see more of the names without re-adjusting the width of the resource panel. For example, the "HTML 4.0 Transitional" standard title becomes "HTML40".
Selecting this option will cause all property names that you insert into a document from the HTML Property Sheet to be inserted in uppercase.
Note: Tags and attributes inserted through other wizards, buttons or menu options in HotDog are not affected by this preference setting.
Selecting this option will cause all property values that you insert from the HTML Property Sheet to be inserted in uppercase (this option only affects values that are selected from a drop-down list in the HTML Property Sheet. The case of attributes that you type into the HTML property sheet yourself will not be altered).
Note: Tags and attributes inserted through other wizards, buttons or menu options in HotDog are not affected by this preference setting.
This option contains several sub-options that allow you to change the order and grouping of properties displayed in the HTML Property Sheet.
The sub-options under this option allow you to prevent certain tag attributes from being displayed in the HTML Property Sheet if those attributes are defined under a particular HTML standard.
